Claffey & his band Featuring Alita Moses

with Justin Faulkner and Alex Claffy

Alita Moses, from West Hartford, CT, USA, can’t remember a time when she wasn’t surrounded by music. She graduated as a Jazz Vocal Major at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. She draws her versatility from performances at the Essentially Ellington Jazz Competition in NYC, solo work with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and writing/singing with r&b, indie, and pop bands in the Philadelphia area.

Justin Faulkner

Drummer, Justin Faulkner of Philadelphia has been playing since he was barely old enough to walk. At age three, he started beating through the heads of pots, pans and anything that would make a sound. This gifted, soft spoken, articulate, musician was born to play. Justin’s training began at the Girard Academic High School Music Program. His formal education, starting at age 7, included studying classical music with Sue Jones, jazz/classical drums and percussion with Samuel Ruttenberg at the Settlement Music School, small group ensembles at the Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts, and instruction with the Principal Timpanist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Don Liuzzi.

Alex Claffy

Alexander Claffy was raised in a musical household (his father is a pianist, his mother, a vocalist), and had many of his earliest lessons on bandstands in the heart of Philadelphia. As a teenager, Claffy was fortunate enough to find a mentor in Philly native Mike Boone, and has continued his study of the double bass with some of the world's finest musicians, including Ron Carter, Dwayne Burno, Ben Wolfe, Orin O'Brien and Gregg August. Since moving to New York City in 2011, he has had the honor of working with many of his living heroes, including Johnny O'Neal, Louis Hayes, Sean Jones, Russell Malone, Wallace Roney, Ralph Peterson, Jr., J.D. Allen, Stacy Dillard, Bruce Harris, Duane Eubanks, Emmet Cohen, Benny Bennack III, and Orrin Evans on whose 2013 release "[It Was Beauty]" he made his recording debut. Alex also appears on three forthcoming records in 2014: JD ALLEN'S "BLOOM" and Ralph Peterson Jr.'s "Alive at Firehouse 12: Volume II", and Ben Eunson's "Autumn". Alexander resides in Harlem.
