Gosia Julia Maj ~ Tribute to Philadelphia Jazz

Gosia Julia Maj is a jazz singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist originating from Wroclaw, Poland. She lived and studied jazz music in the Netherlands as well as Philadelphia and New York City. Her voice is described as deep and soulful, and her compositions and arrangements take her audience on a spiritual journey. In 2021 she released her debut album By your side, on which she collaborated with many great jazz masters such as Wycliffe Gordon, Don Braden, Mark Gross. She was awarded with Fulbright Scholarship and is enrolled in Master in Jazz Music program at Temple University. The Amsterdam Collective is a band consisting of five young jazz musicians that are in an exchange program at Temple University, Martín Díaz (alto saxophone) and Joan Fort (guitar) were both born in Barcelona, Spain. Philip Lewin’s (bass) origins trace from Germany and Nitin Parree (drums) and Frank Groenendijk (tenor saxophone) are from the Netherlands. Because everyone is so well versed in improvisational styles of music, they’ve bonded and formed their own collective, which allows them to share their own creative musical perspective. Proudly representing their individual heritage as well as deep love and passion for jazz, Gosia Julia Maj and the Amsterdam Collective are going to take you on a journey through their music.
